This wine glass set is made by Riedel, makers of fine stemware. For serving and experiencing the best tasting Zinfandel and Rieslings, you'll want to use a special glass designed particularly for those wines - glasses that are shaped to enhance the bouquet and flavors.

Riedel has created this crystal stem for light, fruity red wines with low acidity and tannin. The size and shape of this glass concentrates the wine's characteristics and provides structure by highlighting the tannins and emphasizing the fresh, youthful fruit of the wine.

In 1993, Georg Riedel invited a distinguished panel of Zinfandel producers to join him for a series of workshops and tastings. Their aim was to develop the ideal glass shape to highlight all the nuances and complexity exhibited by Zinfandel.

The resulting shape, the Riedel Zinfandel glass, tempers the alcohol, accentuates the rich berry and spice characteristics of Zinfandel, while gently interweaving the acidity, tannin and fruit to create the perfect balance of components.

Introduced in 1986, Vinum was the first machine-made series of glasses in history to be based exclusively on the characteristics of grape varietels. Vinum, functional, high in quality, reasonably priced and widely distributed, has had a permanent impact on the globe's wine glass culture.

These glasses have proved to consumers and restaurateurs that the pleasure of consuming wine starts with the glass. The Vinum collection, developed by Georg Riedel on the principle that the content commands the shape, is the "Vitrum-Vinothek" for every day use. Vinum is made of over 24% lead crystal.
